The CSR+D network is stressing the creative and innovative potential of disabled workers
In an article on the creative and innovative talents that disabled people can offer employers, the UK newspaper The Guardian highlights the new European Network for Corporate Social Responsibility and Disability (CSR+D). As part of the European Disability Strategy 2010-2020, the new network aims to put disability issues into the business mainstream, in particular the inclusion of the disabled in the workplace. Led by the Spanish ONCE Foundation, it includes partners such as L’Oréal in France and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in Italy. The network will support the aspirations of the 80 million Europeans registered with disabilities – some 16% of the EU population – by focusing on issues such as socially responsible investment, the employment of people with disabilities and the accessibility of goods and services.
