An ESF project is supporting the take-up of science and technical education in the Czech Republic
Seven secondary schools from the Česká Lípa region in the Czech Republic will participate in a project to foster technical subjects and natural sciences at secondary schools. This exercise is the local government’s response to the limited interest of pupils in these subjects, which contributes to low competitiveness and employment rates in the region.
Primarily, the project will focus on secondary school students, but also on elementary school children who will be given presentations by secondary school students involved in the project. The activities comprise an after-school club to extend the scope of the normal school technical subjects. There will also be excursions to various technical facilities and expositions. The action is co-financed by the ESF.
