ESF project helps connect Czech schoolchildren with environmental topics in their region
In the Czech Republic the ‘Do budoucna’ (For the Future) environmental project has been running at the Oloví Elementary School for the past two semesters. Involving pupils as well as teachers, the key project activity is the environmental workshop where pupils give short presentations on environmental topics. Participants also had a chance to vote on the most attractive artwork made of waste materials as part of a travelling ‘waste-art’ exhibition that is visiting elementary schools in the region. The project has successfully raised the profile of the natural world and the environment, and has improved teaching on these issues – while strengthening the links between future citizens and their local region.
