ESF training worth EUR 1 million launched in Dorset, UK

In the UK, almost £900 000 (c. EUR 1 million) of European ESF funding is being deployed by the Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and partner Serco Vocational Training to provide workforce training. It will be used for the 'Skills support for the workforce' campaign to help small businesses across the county identify and address training needs. Customer service, IT, managerial and linguistic skills are being targeted to help boost the county’s strengths in engineering and manufacturing, retail, leisure and tourism.

Geoffrey Smith, LEP board member, said: "Our partnership with Serco represents a tremendous opportunity to help meet the current and future workforce requirement across the county. This important initiative will help businesses to grow by having the right skills in place to fulfill their needs."
