A support centre for a Roma community in Karditsa, Greece has been granted funding for the next three years.
The ‘Community Centre’ project was awarded EUR 405 417 under the European Social Fund as part of the National Strategic Reference Framework and is managed through Karditsa’s municipal government.
The project supports the implementation of policies on social inclusion, combating poverty and deepening social cohesion among others.
Priority is given to vulnerable individuals and groups such as the Roma. The centre will be expanded so it can continue to support the Roma community. It will be located in the Roma settlement in the Mavrika area. It acts as a local information hub, which hosts, informs and interconnects citizens with social programmes and services.
The project is financed by the European Social Fund as part of the Regional Operation Programme.
