In Lithuania, the ‘I Love My Job’ project helps schoolchildren to choose a profession
Panevezys College in Lithuania decided to help its schoolchildren to choose their future professions. To achieve this, the College turned to the ‘Development of Civil Competencies of the Society’ ESF programme being implemented by 120 educational institutions from 30 municipalities.
The schoolchildren visited a number of companies and organisations and were introduced to professions such as cultural manager, audio and lighting operator, social worker, veterinarian, journalist and tourism manager, among others.
According to the students, they found these meetings really useful because they helped them to see professions in a new light, beyond just reading job descriptions.
