Austrian region launches training courses to boost women’s employability
Four new training courses aimed at improving the employability of up to 200 women are being launched in the Burgenland region in Austria. Each course targets a different group e.g. over 45’s who need to reintegrate into the labour market, or poorly-qualified young women who need more skills to find work. “There are many opportunities for women in some economic sectors,” says Provincial councillor Verena Dunst, “So this is another step to raise their employment levels”. With a female employment rate of around 70% the region is doing well – and now has the new Europe 2020 target in its sights (77% overall).
