An elderly-care course aimed at immigrant home help is relaunched in Spain
Spain is providing immigrants with the skills they need to get work in a growing sector – the care of elderly people. An ESF-supported training course restarts in May to upgrade the skills of immigrant carers – and it is mainly this group which performs this service – with 15 hours of tuition.
The course is leading to a certificate that will improve employability and mobility as well as offering better care to their elderly clients. Teaching and materials are free of charge.
The initiative is managed by the Vega Baja Acoge Association and co-funded by the Department of Immigration of the Ministry of Employment and Social Security.
