Lithuanian and Polish ESF projects have won RegioStars awards for their activities
Two ESF projects have won RegioStars 2013 awards, as announced on 31 January in Brussels. The first award went to a successful video campaign from Lithuania entitled ‘Towards Work’ whichwon the ‘Information and Communication’ category. It was produced by the National Deaf People’s Rehabilitation Centre to encourage employers and society in general to discover the potential of deaf people – highlighting their ability to work and their creativity. The Centre’s ESF activities have already found jobs for over 400 people with hearing disabilities. The second successful winner is the ‘Individual Employment Paths’ ESF project from Elblag in northern Poland, which took the prize in the ‘Inclusive Growth’ category. The project offers expert assistance to older job-seekers and others facing obstacles to getting jobs and securing stable careers.
Organised by the European Commission, the RegioStars Awards highlight original and innovative projects which can be attractive and inspiring to other EU countries and regions.
