A Slovenian region is helping disadvantaged groups take a first step on the employment ladder
In the Pokolpje region in southern Slovenia, the ESF is supporting a project to help disadvantaged people acquire a better idea of what the labour market can offer them and what it expects of them. Education and training opportunities in the region will be highlighted along with the benefits of self-employment, while participants will also learn about the different forms of employment and how to avoid the ‘grey market’. Help with finding and applying for jobs will also be available. In all, 1 000 people are expected to take part and participants from the Roma community are a special focus. The project hopes that 25% of the participants will find a job on completion.
