In Bulgaria, schoolteachers are being offered new competences and skills as part of their career development
Under the ESF project ‘Qualification of the pedagogical specialists’, 3000 teachers in Bulgaria will undergo training. Participants will be drawn from teachers who take up new posts or who are returning to teaching after more than two years away from the profession.
The aim is to support young teachers and help returning teachers pick up new skills. The type of training is matched to their individual responsibilities and career development, and will be given by university staff, school managers and headmasters.
A further aim is to encourage them to practise lifelong learning for their further professional development. The training courses will be delivered in nine cities throughout the country.
