The ESF in Croatia helps fund a series of new projects for disadvantaged groups
As Croatia’s operational programme for human resources builds momentum, 11 civil society organisations have signed contracts for ESF projects to support a wide range of disadvantaged social groups. For example: the Roda association that will help women prisoners to develop parenting skills; the B.a.b.e. association which is setting up a 14-month training project for organisations active with women, youth and the disabled to gain advocacy skills; and a programme for supporting 50 young people who have just left foster homes.
The overall implementation will be supervised by the National Foundation for Civil Society Development whose president Cvjetana Plavšić Matić pointed out that civil society organisations are among the most important partners receiving ESF funding.
