A project in Poland is giving disabled people the chance to acquire valuable IT skills
People suffering from sight and hearing loss, motor disorders and other disabilities are now getting new opportunities in the Polish city of Częstochowa. The ESF project ‘Accessible: activating young disabled as a part of Digital Competence Centre’ is offering them three-month training courses and paid traineeships. These cover skills such as computer graphics, building websites, network administration and online retailing. In addition, six-month traineeships in companies are available.
The project is designed to help the disabled find their place in the labour market and to show potential employers that people with disabilities can be a worthy asset. It is expected to help some 60 disabled participants to find work.
