Crete kicks off a new lifelong learning centre which expects some 1600 students to sign up

The city of Chania in Crete has just launched a Centre for Lifelong Learning which is co-funded by the ESF. The Centre will offer teaching and training in some 80 areas, including entrepreneurship, environmental studies, new technologies, and culture and art. Deputy Mayor, Chryssoula Hadjidakis, explained that the educational programmes are on offer to all adults and will be beneficial to local economic development.

The initiative is part of Greece’s ESF operational programme which is funding new lifelong learning centres throughout the country.
