Slovakia is using ESF funding to boost technical and work-related skills among all age groups
From September an elementary school in Prievidza in Slovakia is piloting a nation-wide project to encourage pupils to choose specialised training aimed at developing work-related skills. With ESF support, the project will equip new science laboratories and modernise the curriculum for chemistry, biology, physics and technical subjects.
Slovakia is also encouraging older people to get new technical skills and boost their careers by visiting one of 25 advisory centres throughout the country. The centres were set up by the National Institute of Life-Long Education to improve chances of adults on the labour market. The project is funded from the ESF with EUR 28 million.
