In Bucharest an ESF project has been helping graduates move from education into employment
In Romania a two-year long ESF project called ‘The First Step in Your Career’ has just ended. It focused on university students in Bucharest to increase their chances of finding a suitable job after graduation, one aligned with their studies and personal preferences. The first step was a needs analysis for each individual student and for prospective employers – this gave an idea of the market’s expectations of student jobseekers.
Then, some 233 students received coaching, vocational guidance, and counselling sessions. They also participated in workshops on topics such as CV writing, job interviews, internal company processes and communications. Additionally, 45 students took part in a five-day ‘excellence camp’, where they could develop their entrepreneurial skills.
