Early school-leavers have a second chance to sit their secondary exams thanks to ESF funds.
The “New Chance High School” is a pilot project in Toulouse where school dropouts are given another opportunity to complete their secondary studies. It was launched at the beginning of September and, so far, 27 students aged between 18 and 21 are attending the courses.
The programme is adapted to the needs of each student, and most of the subjects are taught in small groups, from 3 to 12 people. To take part in the project, students are asked to make a commitment to attend all classes during the week.
A total of 21 teachers are working with the project, helping students to obtain a general, technological or vocational high school diploma.
