ESF co-funds a project in Croatia to improve the social services on offer to young people

Disadvantaged citizens and young people in the Slavonski Brod and Brodsko-posavska County in Croatia are being offered new opportunities with ESF help. The new ‘Children Centre’ project is part of a drive to de-institutionalise the help offered to young people. The aim is to reduce the number of youth in permanent care by developing day care and half-day facilities that will also tackle behavioural issues and help them to become more independent.

Better cooperation between families, schools and social services is planned, and the young people will also be helped to prepare for the world of work. The project brings together six partners, including social services and a Roma organisation.
