An ESF co-funded technology centre for school students aims to boost interest in science
With ESF support a high-tech studio involving an electronic microscope and an automotive lab is being set up at a secondary industrial school in Otrokovice in the Czech Republic. The aim is to expand the teaching opportunities at the school as well as in other primary and secondary schools in the region.
The studio will be divided into eight sections, giving students the opportunity to build, for example, a fully functional car, use a 3D printer, experience a railway simulator or save a rainforest. These learning opportunities will be made more attractive through using scientifically motivated missions based on popular heroes, such as James Bond or theFabulous Baron Munchausen. The official opening is planned for 2015.
