ESF-supported speed-dating event matches students to apprenticeships in the UK

After a successful ‘Have a go’ initiative where employers provided over 1000 young people with advice on skills and qualifications, colleges in the city of Bath in the UK are organising a follow-up opportunity. Young people are being invited to ‘dress to impress’ at a speed-dating event with a difference – their dates are a range of employers offering apprenticeships. Lorna Crouch from Norton Radstock College explained: "Apprenticeship speed dating is the next step as it offers young people short interviews with local employers who have current, live apprenticeship vacancies. This is a real opportunity to meet employers, find out more about different careers and enter the world of work." The organisers are expecting much success and are advising participants to bring 10 copies of their CVs.
