Leading sports personalities get behind an ESF-funded project to help young people with disabilities overcome barriers to employment in Northern Ireland.
The ‘Active Inclusion Project’ aims to enable young people to develop the appropriate skills and experience to overcome barriers to work and acquire interpersonal skills.
It currently focus on people with a wide range of conditions including Down’s syndrome, autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) as well as youngsters with special educational needs.
It has recently started a new local phase, with backing from Jason Smyth, the Paralympian and the former world champion boxer Barry McGuigan.
This project is funded by the ESF and the Department of Employment and Learning.
