Businesses, job centres and vocational schools cooperate in a new large-scale initiative to secure more qualified workers in the Sjælland region of Denmark.
The Danish Growth Forum for the Capital region ‘Vækstforum Hovedstaden’ and the ESF have earmarked DKK 20 million (EUR 2.7 million) for a three-year project to counter the impending skilled labour shortage in the maritime industry.
With ESF support the business development centre Væksthus Syddanmark will launch a new EUR 4 million initiative to further growth and job creation in the south of Denmark.
The Commission has adopted today the Danish national Operational Programme for the implementation of the ESF in the period 2014-2020. This programme outlines the priorities and objectives to spend 400 million euros (of which over 200 from EU budget) contributing to strengthening economic growth in all Danish regions.
On 5 May 2014, the Commission adopted the Partnership Agreement with Denmark, setting out the strategies and investment priorities for the European Structural and Investment Funds in this country.
