Free medical supervision and advice on proper nutrition available in 50 Greek municipalities
Free advice on proper diet and medical check-ups to prevent and treat diseases such as obesity, type II diabetes, high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease are on offer to residents of 50 Greek municipalities.
These services are provided as part of the ESF project ‘Development of primary health care and protection of public health of the population’. Participants will receive free nutritional surveillance, a personal nutrition programme and advice on eating behaviour.
"With the completion of the programme in each municipality we will prove that through nutrition education we can target the incidence of specific diseases," explains nutritionist-dietician Konstantina Papadimitriou. In each participating municipality 90 people are eligible to take part.
