The Spanish Canaries offer ESF training opportunities to over 10 000 islanders
The Canary Islands’ employment services has committed EUR 6 million to provide training opportunities to over 10 000 people – thus improving their skills and employability. In all 55 institutions – including employer organisations, trade associations and training centres – will offer some 650 courses aimed at boosting skills and employment while reducing the high unemployment rate in the Canaries. Languages and occupational safety as well as human resources, quality and business management are among the topics available; and a dedicated website allows prospective applicants to see the range of training opportunities on offer and apply online. While open to all, priority is given to more vulnerable groups such as women, the low-skilled, older jobseekers and those with disabilities.
