As part of the Bell Foundation’s Language for Change programme, Learning and Work Institute, in partnership with De Montfort University, is delivering Improving Language, Improving Lives. This three-year project aims to enhance ESOL screening and provision delivery in prisons by working with tutors, prison staff and learners to develop and pilot an ESOL screening tool and a Citizens’ Curriculum ESOL course.

This free event will share the findings of the first year of the project and discuss the lessons learned for ESOL screening and delivery in the secure estate. It will provide an update on latest policy developments, workshops on screening methods, participatory delivery approaches and useful resources for ESOL delivery, as well as opportunities for delegates to network and share practice.
