- Extract : The objective of this work was to assess available data and information, synthesize this information, identify and address the information gaps in order to support the Commission services in drafting their impact assessment for the proposal of the RoHS review. The study collected specific data and insights on the current practices and developed an analysis of some policy options presented in the second consultation document launched by the Commission services in December 2007.

- Extract: The objective of the study is to give a thorough analysis of the impacts of the RoHS Directive on the economy and the environment and to compare the ROHS approach with other approaches used outside of the EU, highlighting advantages and disadvantages. Finally it will formulate proposals to revise the Directive with a view to improving its cost-effectiveness.

- Extract: Article 6 of 2002/95/EC (RoHS) requires the European Commission to carry out a review of this Directive and present proposals for including Category 8 and 9 equipment set out in Annex IA to Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE) within the scope of the RoHS Directive. This Study looks at the scope of products within Categories 8 and 9, in connection with the RoHS substances and their possible substitutes in view of a the possible inclusion of Categories 8 and 9 in the scope of RoHS.
