EU-funded projects in support to SEIS: The NESIS thematic Network |
NESIS, is a thematic network funded by the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) of the European Commission.
It is composed of partners from 14 EU and EFTA Countries and aims at promoting the uptake of ICT solutions in problems faced by public authorities related to monitoring and reporting environmental impacts and threats. It supports the creation of SEIS by bringing together (national and regional) stakeholders through workshops and by exchanging existing pracices.
In May 2008, a workshop was organised for all EIONET NFPs partners in NESIS. National practices, obstacles (technical and organisational) in applying the SEIS principles and ways to overcome them were some of the points highlighted throughout speakers’ presentations.
The slides of this workshop, together with more information on the network and more presentations of other workshops, may be found on the NESIS website.
