European Commission requests proposals for grants under LIFE programmes

The European Commission has invited legal persons (entities) registered in the European Union (EU) to present proposals for LIFE Action Grants. The invitation includes proposals for both of LIFE’s sub-programmes for Environment and Climate Action, which were established under the LIFE Regulation in December 2013. Read more...

The LIFE programme is the EU’s funding instrument for the environment. Managed by DG Environment and DG Climate Action, the programme aims to contribute to the implementation, updating and development of EU environmental policy and legislation through co-financing pilot or demonstration projects.

Under the Environment sub-programme, proposals for action grants should cover ‘traditional’ projects, preparatory projects, integrated Projects, technical assistance projects and capacity building projects, all of which have specific criteria for implementation. The Climate Action sub-programme will cover action grants for ‘traditional’ and capacity building projects only.

The total budget for project action grants under this call is EUR283,122,966. Of this, EUR238,862,966 is allocated to the Environment sub-programme the remaining to Climate Action. At least 55% of the funds allocated to projects through action grants for the Environment sub-programme will be dedicated to projects supporting the conservation of nature and biodiversity.
