The i-SUP conference has four central themes – energy, materials, chemistry and investments. It will primarily focus on growth and how industry can achieve this in close cooperation with institutes and investors.
The materials theme has three sessions. During the first session, the supply of raw materials and recovering raw materials at end of life will be discussed. The second session will explore new developments for closing material loops by recycling. The final session will focus on the business and policy framework for sustainable materials management. Confirmed speakers for the materials sessions include Olivier Vanden Eynde, who is the Founder and Managing Director of Close the Gap and WorldLoop, and Pär Weihed, Luleå University of Technology who provides expertise on sustainable mining and mineral industry.
The event is aimed at private-sector companies, international academics, government officials and investors. Over 500 participants from more than 30 countries are expected to attend the conference.
There will be an invitation-only chief executive officer (CEO) roundtable discussion on the 1 September and demonstrations of practical examples of sustainable industrial technologies throughout the three days. Registration has opened and delegates can indicate whether they are interested in test driving an elective vehicle. Networking opportunities will include an evening reception at the town hall in Antwerp.
