IFAT provides a platform for individuals, businesses and other organisations to share the latest developments in environmental technology; and water, sewage, waste and raw materials management. In 2012, the event attracted 2,939 exhibitors from 54 countries and 124,200 visitors from 182 countries. IFAT 2014 is anticipated to be even bigger this year, covering 230,000 square metres of exhibition space and attracting approximately 3,000 exhibitors from 50 countries.
The event will open with the presentation of the GreenTec Awards. These promote innovation and reward projects in nine different areas – automobility, construction and living, energy, communication, lifestyle, aviation, production, recycling and resources, and water and sewage. Visitors are invited to vote for their favourite project in each category as well as for the winners of four special awards called Galileo Wissenspreis, intelligent urbanisation, start-up and WWF.
A number of live demonstrations including motor vehicle and building materials’ recycling will also be featured in this year’s event. As the concept of intelligent urbanisation is one of the key themes of IFAT 2014, exhibitors with relevant products and services can benefit from additional visibility this year. Exhibition stands in some segments have already been sold out. For visitors, full registration is required prior to entry and concessionary rates are available.
