The three-day conference, organised by the City of Geneva, ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability and the Sustainable Towns and Cities Campaign, offers a range of plenary and break-out sessions connected to a green and socially responsible economy. Topics include the economic, environmental and societal challenges of a green economy at a local level, sustainable financing and procurement, and governance systems.
The invited speakers include the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, the European Regional Policy Commissioner, Johannes Hahn and the Coordinator of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development Rio+20, Brice Lalonde.
