Brussels Sustainable Development Summit 2012

17-18 December 2012: Brussels, Belgium

The summit ‘Bringing the Rio+20 Agenda to life’, is organised by VITO (the Flemish Institute for Technological Research) and TERI, the Energy and Resources Institute. This is the first of what is planned to be an annual series of high-level international conferences held in Brussels on action plans to achieve sustainable development globally. Read more…

The summit will be spread over two days, opening with thematic workshops based on the BSDS Dialogues, a series of online discussion platforms available to all stakeholders in the run-up to the event. These will be followed on Day 2 by discussions with political leaders on the institutional framework for sustainable development and the opportunities for a green economy. Speakers include the European Environment Commissioner, Janez Poto─Źnik and Connie Hedegaard, Commissioner for Climate Action, European Union.
