The European Forum on Eco-Innovation was setup by the European Commission’s Directorate General (DG) for the Environment. It meets twice a year and each forum is designed to facilitate cross fertilisation, identify common objectives, bring forward key issues that need to be addressed and mobilise for action.

This specific forum meeting will give participants the opportunity to discuss and showcase eco-innovations that can facilitate the shift to a circular economy and support cities in meeting targets for municipal waste treatment. Speakers include Janez Poto─Źnik, European Commissioner for the Environment, and Stuart Whitman, of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. There will be case studies speakers illustrating practical examples of how city authorities and businesses are driving change to a circular economy.

This forum is jointly organised by DG Environment and the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety.
The Forum will be accompanied by two side events 'Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) meetings/EMAS Awards ceremony' and 'Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Stakeholder Forum'.

Admission to the forum and side events is free, but upon registration only. If you are interested in participating, please request an invitation online and you will receive an answer within a week.
