Resource Efficiency

Public Stakeholder Consultation on Resource Efficiency

The European Commission is preparing a Roadmap for a resource-efficient Europe as part of the resource-efficient Europe Flagship Initiative of the Europe 2020 Strategy.

A public consultation was organised from 22 February to 22 April 2011 aiming at collecting the views of businesses, other stakeholders and the public at large on policy options for the Roadmap. Stakeholders were asked about their informed opinions on the current situation (existing opportunities and main barriers to more efficient use of natural resources) and on the potential effectiveness of public policy tools in achieving a Resource Efficient Europe.
