Public voting for the 2016 European Natura 2000 Citizens' Award has now closed.

You will have to wait for the Award Ceremony to discover which of the 24 outstanding finalist applications has received the most public votes to win this coveted prize!

Natura 2000 Day - Last year, this high profile and innovative project captured the public’s imagination though its creation of the "European Natura 2000 Day". Since 2013, it has also reached out to an estimated 3 million social network accounts with photographs of its “butterfly hands” gesture, which is dedicated to the conservation of a particular Natura 2000 site in Europe each year.

Congratulations to them for their success, and thank you to everyone who voted! We look forward to a similar success in 2016.
