Numerous LIFE projects support novel solutions that help cut greenhouse gas emissions in different economic sectors, thus further strengthening the EU’s commitment for transition to a low-carbon and climate-resilient economy. Projects have focused on the development of new technologies to exploit renewable energy sources as well as monitoring tools and methodologies to demonstrate more efficient use of energy, indicatively targeting the energy, building, transport or industrial sectors. Other projects describe farming, land-use and peatlands management techniques, highlighting the importance in terms of climate change mitigation action.
