LIFE+ Information Workshops 2009

LIFE+ Information Workshops 2009

DG Environment of the European Commission, in conjunction with STELLA Consulting and MWH, organised a series of LIFE+ Information Workshops in the context of the 2009 LIFE+ Call for Proposals. There was one workshop in each of the EU Member States. The workshops were conducted in the national language of the country in question (with the exception of the workshops in Ireland and Malta, which were in English, and there were two workshops in Belgium, in Dutch and French).

The aim of these workshops was to inform potential applicants about the LIFE+ Programme in the context of the 2009 Call for Proposals. In particular, they aimed to help potential applicants decide whether or not to submit a LIFE+ proposal, and to highlight some key issues to help avoid common problems if they do submit a proposal. The target audience was therefore those who:

  • Had little or no knowledge of the LIFE+ Programme;
  • Were submitting their first proposal; or who
  • Had submitted an unsuccessful proposal in the past.

However, those with previous LIFE experience were also welcome to attend.

The agenda included a new presentation to inform participants about the main points of the LIFE+ Programme and, where possible, successful applicants to the LIFE+ Programme also made a presentation. Furthermore, the Workshops were not Writers’ Workshops and therefore did not provide in-depth working groups on preparing proposals.
