LIFE+ Background

The LIFE III programme (Regulation (EC) 1655/2000 of 17.07.2000) and its extension (Regulation (EC) No 1682/2004 of 15.09.2004) finished at the end of 2006.

Now, the new Financial Instrument for the Environment, LIFE+, provides opportunities for funding: a total budget of €2.143 billion for the period 2007-2013.

LIFE+ Committee

The LIFE+ Committee is made up of representatives from the Member States. It takes implementing decisions to assist the Commission according to Article 13 of the LIFE+ Regulation.

  This meeting was an opportunity to inform Member States about the organisation of the 2007 call for proposals and the evaluation and selection of projects.
• LIFE+ Committee adopts project selection methodology for 2008-2013
  This second meeting saw three implementing decisions adopted and a number of issues discussed. These included the issue of double-funding, the CIP programme, as well as the planned ex-post evaluation of earlier LIFE programmes.
