Since the launch of the LIFE programme by the European Commission in 1992, a total of 447 projects have been financed in Spain. Of these, 238 focus on environmental innovation, 205 on nature conservation and four on information and communication. These projects represent a total investment of €633.4 million, of which €274.9 million has been provided by the European Union.
