Welcome to the REAP (Retailer's Environmental Action Programme) Database.

This database contains examples of sustainability commitments made by members of the Retail Forum in the context of the Retailers' Environmental Action Programme (REAP). These commitments cannot be compared directly as they are subject to the very varied conditions that exist in each of the different retailers.

  • Please note that this database is a new tool that is not yet exhaustive but comprises a selection of exemplary environmental actions taken by retailers to reduce the environmental footprint of their operations, promote more sustainable products in their stores and better inform consumers
  • Please be aware that the commitments can and should not be compared directly because:
    • they cover a wide range of environmental fields of action, setting customized targets which retailers strive to achieve by implementing individually optimized measures,
    • they are derived from very different starting points and including product range and country conditions
    • overall impacts are not absolute but depending on many influencing factors such as company size, turn over etc.
