The BioSoil study launched by the European Commission under the Forest Focus scheme intends to demonstrate how a large-scale European study can use existing networks following a harmonised approach, in order to provide data that contribute to research and policies on forest biodiversity and soil status, and to demonstrate the feasibility of soil and biodiversity monitoring in the Community using the existing Level I and II networks.
The BioSoil-Conference 2009 – taking place on 09/11/2009 in Brussels - will gather experts from the participating Member States and will provide first responses to open questions. Audience interested in environmental issues, in particular biodiversity, soil and forests are welcome to attend the conference.
