Environmental Footprint: What’s in it for me?

Within the framework of the Circular Economy Stakeholder Conference, the European Commission is organizing an information event around Environmental Footprint back to back with the Stakeholder Conference. This event will explain the meaning of the Environmental Footprint, its history and potential future policy implications. It will clarify what it can bring for companies, how results can support decision-making and how companies can be engaged.

How to participate to the transition phase?

In the context of the Communication Building the Single Market for Green Products, the Commission carried out the Environmental Footprint pilot phase. During the period between the end of the pilot phase (end 2018) and the adoption of new policies (if any; by end 2021), the Commission is putting in place a framework to allow the voluntary development of new PEFCRs and OEFSRs.

This one hour webinar will explain how to apply for developing new PEFCRs/OEFSRs during the transition phase (e.g., timeline, documents required, organization of the TS), what are the different steps, and allows time for questions and answers.

Environmental Footprint: Diving into the details of PEF/OEF

The European Commission, in collaboration with UN Environment, is organizing a free training for LCA practitioners of the PEF/OEF rules, back-to-back with the SETAC Conference. This training will dive into the technical details of PEF and OEF and will explain the specific modelling guidelines for performing a PEF or OEF study, together with all other requirements such as the data needs, the review and reporting rules. Please note there is no possibility to offer travel support to participants, but a share of the 50 places will be provided in priority to participants from developing countries and emerging economies.

What is an EF-compliant dataset?

Within the Environmental Footprint (EF) work, the Commission is organising a second 1h training webinar. In this webinar you will learn what EF-compliant data sets are, where to find these and what the user rights are today. You will be introduced to the general rules for EF compliant data (+ format) and where to find further guidance. In addition, it will provide details about the EF Reference packages released as well as requirements for the review process and the use of Look@LCI. At the end of the webinar there will be time for questions and answers.

How to develop a PEFCR/OEFSR (to be confirmed)

The European Commission is organizing a free training on developing PEFCRs/OEFSRs, back to back with the LCM2019 conference. This training will explain the process required, the modelling and data needs, and review requirements. Please note there is no possibility to offer travel support to participants, and the places are limited to 30 people.
