The Commission presents a new brochure on Vitoria-Gasteiz as the European Green Capital for 2012. The brochure introduces the capital city of the Basque Country and of the province of Alava and describes how the careful urban planning of the city has limited the environmental impacts of urban living and demonstrates the exceptional quality of life of all its residents. Vitoria-Gasteiz proves that when it comes to green living, all cities have an important role to play, and is a role model for other medium-sized European cities.
