Velo-city 2017

The European Cyclists’ Federation Velo-city conference rolls into the Arnhem – Nijmegen region for its annual conference in June 2017. Considered as the primary international cycling conference, the home of urban cycling and the European Green Capital 2018 could not be a more suitable venue for this year’s event.

With renowned global speakers, an exciting social program and numerous excursions the conference promises to be the biggest yet.

Whilst the conference is centered on its main theme of ‘The Freedom of Cycling’, proceedings will be discussed under five sub themes which are as follows:

  • Infrastructure: Learn, experience and put it into practice;
  • People: Different people, different ideas, different choices;
  • Bikenomics: Cycling saves and generates money;
  • Urban Planning; Cycling in a digitalizing world;
  • Governance: How do they do it?

On the opening day of the conference the discussions will be centred on people. Why should we promote cycling? What are the benefits and how is cycling experienced and viewed?

Days two and three will see bikenomics, infrastructure and urban planning take centre stage. Governance takes precedence on the final day of the conference and with over 60 sessions across all topics taking place, there is something for all attendees.

Discounted ‘early bird’ registration closes on 28th February, standard rates apply from 1st March to 30th April. All details on the conference are available here.
