URBES Conference and Training

The Urban Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (URBES) conference and training will take place on 14th January 2015  in Brussels, Belgium. The conference will be followed by a series of training sessions.

The URBES project has led to multiple research outcomes related to the role of biodiversity and ecosystem services in urban landscapes. The project has assisted urban planners and decision-makers on how to best integrate the natural environment into city planning, by connecting the knowledge gap on the importance of urban biodiversity and ecosystem services for human well-being.

The URBES – Urban Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services project is an EU funded project led by the Stockholm Resilience Centre, with the involvement of several research institutes, ICLEI, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and the cities: Stockholm, Berlin, Salzburg, Barcelona, Rotterdam, Helsinki and New York.
