URBAN-NEXUS Dialogue Cafe – Smart Green Cities: Integrating urban governance

The URBAN-NEXUS Dialogue Cafe will take place on 1st – 3rd April 2014 at the Watershed in Bristol, UK. URBAN-NEXUS is an EU-funded project which aims to disseminate research on how integrated urban governance can achieve smart green cities.
During this event the Bristol Dialogue Café will present key findings from this research and develop them further through dialogue and discussion among academics, policy makers and practitioners.
This is the final event in a series of Dialogue Cafés hosted by URBAN-NEXUS and will combine the themes of urban climate resilience, health and quality of life, and competing for urban land into a framework for accomplishing smart green cities.
URBAN-NEXUS is a coordination and support action funded by the European Union under the 7th Framework Programme. The URBAN-NEXUS Consortium comprises of 13 main partners, supported by 25 Strategic Partners across Europe.

European Green Capital Award
As part of this event Bristol City Council, which has been awarded the European Green Capital 2015 title, will showcase their groundbreaking work on smart city living labs. The award recognises Europe’s ‘greenest’ city based on its performance in relation to 12 indicators. These include air quality, sustainable land use, waste management and water consumption.
