Relevant stakeholders such as experts in sustainable development and smart cities from around Europe will convene for this interesting conference. These include politicians, business people, community representatives and researchers. ‘Urban Futures’ will serve as a platform to share and discuss new information on community strategies, urban technologies, the use of ‘living labs’ in city neighbourhoods and new forms of collaboration.

Three European smart city projects will be presented to those in attendance for the first time. Panel discussions, expert lectures and creative workshops will be happening across the two days. Results from the Morgenstadt initiative, a template for the city of the future, will be debated. There will also be exclusive proceedings to take part in, such as a ‘Call for Ideas’ competition, ‘Speed Dating for Mayors’ and an ‘Ideas Lounge’.

The conference will be hosted by Fraunhofer, a German research organisation which focuses on various areas of applied sciences. The first day will be communicated in both English and German, while the second day will offer a chance to choose sub-sessions in one of these languages.
