European Green Capital Award

The European Green Capital Award acknowledges the positive influence that well planned sustainable transport can have on the overall environment of a city and has listed local transport as one the 12 indicators. Transportation management can reduce greenhouse gas emissions while also reducing the release of air pollutants that can cause health issues. Effective sustainable urban transport can improve citizens health, accessibility, safety, and ultimately lead to more efficient and cost-effective transport of people and goods.
