STARS, PTP-Cycle and MOBI Projects – Final Conference

The final conference of the STARS, PTP-Cycle and MOBI projects will take place on 18th February 2016 in Brussels, Belgium. These are co-funded European projects involving research into how best to encourage various groups to take up cycling or other forms of sustainable mobility. The conference will showcase results and conclusions from all three projects.

18.02.16 STARS - PTP Cycle - MOBI Conference

STARS (Sustainable Travel Accreditation and Recognition for Schools) encourages children to travel to and from school by bicycle through accreditation schemes. PTP-Cycle (Personalised Travel Planning for cycling) assists cities with designing personalised travel plans for households, workplaces and universities. The MOBI-project promotes ‘smart mobility’ to employees through a specialised website application, motivating them to use sustainable transport through initiating competition with their colleagues. Results from the projects will be presented at three separate break-out sessions.

A roundtable of international speakers will be present to debate the initiatives that are cost-effective for cities to reduce car traffic, air and noise emissions, and how transport planners can tap into behaviour change techniques to accommodate pedestrians and cyclists.

The conference has been organised by POLIS – the networking platform for European cities and regions, which supports innovative transport solutions. Communication will be through English and it is free to attend. For more information and to register, please visit the event website.
