1st Product Environmental Footprint World Summit
8th & 9th October 2013, Berlin, Germany
The 1st Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) World Summit (formerly known as Product Carbon Footprint World Summit) will take place on the 8th & 9th October in Berlin, Germany. The two-day event it is organised by PEF World Forum (formerly known as PCF World Forum). This organisation is a neutral platform for enterprises and their stakeholders to share practical experiences and knowledge, as well as to provide them with orientation to support low carbon and climate-conscious consumption and production models.
The 9th edition will draw together a select group of researchers and business and government representatives from the EU, America and Asia. Meetings will put at the forefront the EU Environmental Footprinting initiative, its pilot phase and an outlook to its implementation, as well as latest international carbon and environmental footprint standards and initiatives.
The following will be also be addressed during the two-day event:
- Sustainability benchmarking of products and suppliers
- Product category and sector level implementation
- Carbon & environmental footprinting at scale
- Implications of carbon & environmental footprinting and trade

The European Green Capital Award
The selection of a city to be awarded the European Green Capital is assessed by an Expert Panel on the basis of twelve environmental indicators. The winning city takes the lead in linking economic growth and ecology by developing solutions which benefits both spheres. European cities are all facing the same challenges and the European Green Capitals can serve as role models from which to learn.
